After touring all four corners of the United States and numerous festival appearances, Austin’s Sailor Poon debuts their new single, “Moneysnake Rising. The song was recorded by the band and mastered by Brett Orrison, the track takes an evil, doomy approach to post-punk, giving listeners a new anthem: “pay to shit, pay to shit, pay to shit.”

The song offers a darker, heavier followup to their 2017 EP, “B-Sides and Rarities,” recorded and produced by Paul Millar of Ariel Pink. Previously, the band’s demo caught the attention of King Khan, who called them "the best thing to happen to Texas music since the meeting of Tommy Hall and Roky Erickson” of the 13th Floor Elevators - and invited them to join him on several southwestern tour dates.

The band eventually made their way into the mainstream festival circuit with a performance at Austin City Limits 2018 (as well as a late-night ACL show with IDLES in 2019). Other festival appearances include Levitation, Art Basel Miami, Fortress Festival, Gonerfest and Norman Music Festival.
