BRETT ORRISON / FOUNDER
Brett Orrison is a seasoned sound engineer, producer, and talent buyer with over 25 years in the music industry. From live broadcast mixing to studio mastering and festival curation, his work has shaped modern music across genres.
Originally from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Brett started in New Orleans and moved to Austin in 2006. He has worked with artists like Jack White, Widespread Panic, The Black Angels, Leon Bridges, and Van Morrison, and engineered landmark events like Willie Nelson’s 90th at the Hollywood Bowl and John Lennon’s 75th at Madison Square Garden.
With over 210 studio credits, Brett has mixed and or mastered records for King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Sword, Roky Erickson, and others. His film scores have appeared on PBS, Discovery Channel, and Showtime.
For over 20 years, Brett has curated festivals and booked legendary talent, celebrating American roots music from blues to brass bands. He founded Spaceflight Records to challenge industry norms, offering equitable deals and full-label support to independent artists—empowering them to own their work and thrive on their own terms.

Samuel Wainwright Douglas is an award-winning documentary filmmaker based in Austin, Texas, known for exploring American life through stories of social movements, creative communities, and untold histories. His acclaimed films, including Citizen Architect and Through the Repellent Fence, have screened at Sundance, SXSW, and beyond—celebrated for their poetic style and cultural depth.
With over two decades of experience, Samuel blends investigative storytelling with visual artistry, collaborating with artists and activists to amplify powerful, often overlooked narratives. He is also the creator of Spaceflight Television, a platform for original music content, and has produced numerous music videos that reflect his cinematic approach to sound and story.
His work continues to shape the landscape of contemporary documentary film.

Bryan Richie is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and audio engineer with over 20 years in rock, metal, and electronic music. As bassist and synth player for The Sword, he helped define the band’s heavy, riff-driven sound—recording and mixing their first two albums and touring globally.
He also leads Galactic Protector, his cinematic, synth-driven solo project, known for lush ambient textures and futuristic soundscapes.
In the studio, Bryan’s production and engineering work blends analog grit with digital precision, earning him a reputation for dynamic, immersive mixes across genres.
Based in Austin, Bryan serves as President of Music on Main, a nonprofit in Taylor, TX, championing live music and community access to the arts. Whether crafting records or supporting local talent, he remains committed to pushing boundaries in independent music.

Rick Pierik is the founder of Nine Mile Records, an independent label known for championing artist-first values and sustainable music careers. With over 20 years in the industry, he’s helped shape the paths of emerging and established artists alike, offering label services, distribution, and strategic development.
Based in Austin, Rick is also the talent buyer for Radio East and leads retail marketing and distribution for Spaceflight Records, bringing his expertise in audience engagement and physical sales to support local and independent musicians.
Blending creative insight with business acumen, Rick continues to push fair, forward-thinking models that let artists thrive on their own terms.
Tiara Allen / Digital Content Strategist
Tiara Allen is a creative professional and community leader based in the Austin area. As Marketing and Outreach Coordinator for the Pflugerville Public Library, she develops inclusive programs like Blue Career, a workforce development initiative, and Small Business Support, which connects entrepreneurs with vital local resources.
She also contributes to public radio as a writer for KUT and the Texas Standard, covering cultural topics such as women in sports broadcasting. An active volunteer with Future Front Texas, Tiara supports large-scale events and community gatherings, and represents the library at Maker Faire Austin.
Through her work in libraries, media, and the arts, Tiara champions community, culture, and creative expression throughout Central Texas.
